Jenc: if the adoption was finalized, why would the bf try to reinstate his rights? I'm not flaming, just asking. Basically, it seems like he had money to keep going to court.

Well, I have the school district coming out to observe him on Tuesday. But I feel like they're going to laugh in my face. Because, once again, it's not impacting his development. I will concentrate on giving easier and more direct instructions. I tried walking him in the house the other day...

I agree. Find a new agency immediately. They have been holding your money and you are not even active? Money that was due when the homestudy was completed? And it turns out its not really completed? That's not a relationship you are going to be able to fix. I would agressively end it now.

If you are going to get a refund, you do not need to file for an extension. Get the AITN before you finalize because you can not get one after and you will need to wait for the new BC and then apply for a social security number at that point. (Which can take quite a long time). I think it took...

I disagree with you! We being from the USA, can basically adopt from where ever we desire. Children from the Azores have been adopted into the USA for decades...I am one of them
